Mark Knopfler has released a new rendition of Going Home (Theme From Local Hero). For this release he united an extraordinary ensemble of over 60 iconic musicians contributing to the cause. The single aims to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America.

The nine-minute epic, produced by Guy Fletcher, features the final recording of Jeff Beck, alongside guitar greats such as David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Slash, and Eric Clapton. The rhythm section boasts Ringo Starr and his son Zak Starkey on drums, with Sting on bass.

Gratitude
Mark Knopfler expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming participation: “What I really want to do, more than anything else, is just to thank each and every one for this sterling response”, he said. The project, recorded at British Grove Studios, also includes contributions from Roger Daltrey on harmonica and a host of other renowned artists.

The track, accompanied by artwork from Sir Peter Blake, is not only a historic moment in rock but also a charitable endeavor, with proceeds from the sales and signed guitars auctioned for the two charities.
