The Rolling Stones, on their tour promoting the 2023 album Hackney Diamonds, gave their fans a special treat during their recent concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Guitarist Keith Richards sang the new song Tell Me Straight live for the first time ever on May 26.

Richards took the spotlight with his vocals on this track, which is the only song from “Hackney Diamonds” featuring him as the lead singer. Halfway through their 19-song set, Mick Jagger introduced Richards, who announced, “I’m gonna try a new one tonight off of Hackney Diamonds. It’s called Tell Me Straight.”

Troubled love affair
The song, seemingly about a troubled love affair, highlighted Richards’ distinctive voice accompanied by his guitar playing and Ronnie Wood’s melodic solo. Fans captured the moment on video and shared it on YouTube.

The Rolling Stones didn’t stop there; they also debuted three other songs on this tour leg: B*tch, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker), and Midnight Rambler, all hailing from their classic albums from the ’60s and ’70s.

More tracks from Hackney Diamonds
In addition to Tell Me Straight, the Stones performed three more tracks from Hackney Diamonds that night, including Angry, Whole Wide World, and Sweet Sounds of Summer.

Following their New Jersey stint, The Stones are set to continue their tour with a show scheduled for May 30 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, with dates running through to July 21.
