David Gilmour and Daughter Enchant Fans with New Single + VIDEO

David Gilmour and his daughter Romany have teamed up for a whimsical new single, Between Two Points. The song is a cover of The Montgolfier Brothers’ 1999 track, featuring Romany on vocals and harp.

Gilmour explained, “I’ve had that song on my playlist since it was released… I assumed that it had been a hit, but no one knew it. I asked Romany to give it a go.”

Great arrangement and production
Mark Tranmer of The Montgolfier Brothers praised the cover, saying, “David and Romany’s version is a great arrangement and production. Romany’s vocal phrasing and the harp playing are truly beautiful. David Gilmour’s distinctive guitar adds a whole new dimension.”

The black and white music video, directed by Gavin Elder, shows Romany playing the harp on a train and close-ups of David’s guitar. Elder noted, “Romany performs this song with an extraordinary level of fragility, vulnerability, and understated control.”

First solo work in nine years
Between Two Points is the second single from David’s upcoming album Luck And Strange, set for release on September 6. The album is his first solo work in nine years, following 2015’s Rattle That Lock. Romany also appears on the album’s bonus track, Yes, I Have Ghosts.

David Gilmour recently announced more shows in Los Angeles and New York for his Luck And Strange tour.
