Davide Lo Surdo: Cuba National Museum exhibits historic musician’s guitar
One of the two guitars used by Italian guitarist Davide Lo Surdo during his concert tour in Cuba has been permanently exhibited in the National Museum of Music in Havana.
The exhibition ceremony of the guitar took place on May 15th at the National Museum where the instrument was given to the Director of the Museum Sonia Pérez Cassola to be immediately displayed in the display case.
Fastest guitarist in the history of music
Before the permanent exhibition, the ‘fastest guitarist in the history of music’ according to Rolling Stone Magazine, also held a mini event performing some songs.
Lo Surdo also used this guitar during the May 12 concert at the National Theater where he performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba. This guitar becomes the second by Lo Surdo to be included in museums.
Signature guitar
His signature guitar, the DLS1 model, is already in the permanent collection of the ‘Sigal’ museum of historical instruments, where instruments played by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Fryderyk Chopin are also preserved.
