Steve Vai’s Guitar Book “Wire & Wood” and Tour Extension Announced
Rufus Publications is releasing a new photography book titled Wire & Wood: The Guitars Of Steve Vai. This book features over 100 of Vai’s iconic guitars, with stories and notes from Steve himself.
The book spans Vai’s early guitars to his latest touring lineup and includes over 1,000 full-color pages, designed by his long-time art director, Michael Mesker. It will be available in Standard, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe editions, writes Rufus Publications.
Extended Beat Tour
In other news, the Beat tour featuring former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, Steve Vai, and Tool drummer Danny Carey, is extending due to high demand. Tour producer Angelo “Scrote” Bundini explains, “Due to overwhelming demand, Adrian, Steve, Tony, and Danny have decided to extend the Beat tour with an additional 21 shows.”
Adrian Belew says, “The 1981 through 1984 King Crimson created a music all its own. Timeless. Beautiful. Complex. Fierce. For the fans who lived through it then, and the ones who never got to witness it, our aim is to bring it to life again.”
Extraordinary privilege
Steve Vai adds, “Being a part of this ensemble is an extraordinary privilege and opportunity to perform some of the most beloved, timeless, and monumental music of the 80’s (and beyond) with truly inspired musicians.”
