Pink Floyd Icon David Gilmour Unveils Poetic New Single + VIDEO
David Gilmour has released a new song called Dark And Velvet Nights. This song is part of his upcoming album, Luck And Strange, which will be out on September 6.
The song came from a special moment between the Pink Floyd guitarist and his wife, Polly Samson. Gilmour explains, “Polly had given me a beautiful poem for our wedding anniversary, which was sitting on the desk right next to me, so I picked it up and sang it on the track, to hear what it would sound like with words.”

As Consequence writes, fans can now watch the official video for Dark and Velvet Nights. The video was directed by Gavin Elder.
Luck And Strange is Gilmour’s first new album in nine years. It includes nine songs and was recorded over five months in Brighton and London. One special track features Gilmour’s 22-year-old daughter, Romany, singing and playing harp.

Fans can pre-order the album now. It will be available on vinyl, CD, and Blu-Ray, with some versions including bonus tracks. Gilmour will also be performing live shows this fall in Rome, London, Los Angeles, and New York.
