Mixed Response to Eric Clapton’s Jurgen Klopp Tribute at Liverpool Concert
During a recent concert at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, Eric Clapton paid tribute to Liverpool F.C.’s outgoing manager, Jurgen Klopp, by playing a snippet of the team’s anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone. However, the gesture was met with a mixed response from the audience, as it included both Liverpool and Everton fans.
Some Everton supporters even booed during the tribute. Despite this, Clapton concluded the brief rendition with a declaration of “For Jurgen!” which was one of the few times he spoke during the show.

Emmett compared Clapton’s playing style to that of fellow Yardbirds alumni Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, noting that Clapton’s style remained more traditional, while Beck and Page were more innovative and expansive in their approach.
