Kirk Hammett Wishes for More Metallica Tours: ‘We Don’t Play Enough Live Shows’
Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett recently expressed his desire for more touring during an interview on The Metallica Report. Despite Metallica’s extensive touring history, Hammett believes there’s always room for more live performances.
Currently on the M72 tour, which resumed after a six-month hiatus, Hammett shared his enthusiasm about being back on stage. He said, “I’m just happy to be out here and bringing the music to the people, man, like I always am. And I’m happy having the feeling of, like, Metallica is a working, touring band, ’cause sometimes I miss that feeling, ’cause I don’t believe we tour enough.”
Passion for touring
Hammett emphasized his passion for touring, stating, “That’s just how it is. So, what I can get out of this, I’m always up for it. It’s just, like, ‘Yeah, bring it on.’ ‘Cause this is what it’s all about, is playing guitar and writing, recording, going out on tour. It’s what it’s all about. And I don’t feel that there’s enough of it in my life right now.”
Returning to the stage in Munich, Germany, Hammett described the experience as seamlessly familiar, noting the recognizable stage setup, crew, and songs.
Limited time
The M72 tour will continue until September, giving fans a limited time to catch Metallica live before the band takes another break.
