Guitarist Drew Zingg (Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs) Passes Away at 68

Guitar player Drew Zingg, famous for his work with Steely Dan and Boz Scaggs, has died at age 68. His family shared this sad news on Instagram.

The family’s announcement came from his wife Katerina, his son Levon, and his brothers Peter and Chris. They are all very sad about his death, which happened earlier this week in San Francisco, writes PennLive.

“Drew devoted his life to sharing his unique gift and exceptional music talent, encyclopedic knowledge and love of American music, using his brilliant skills as a guitarist and arranger, collaborating with so many artists he counted as mentors, friends and colleagues, and brining joy to audiences big and small. We will forever remember his ringing sound and his gentle, uplifting spirit on and off the stage”, the family wrote in their post.

Amazing dad
They added: “Drew has been an amazing dad and a tremendous source of love and support to his family. We are heartbroken as we are navigating this immense loss.”

Zingg was known for his amazing guitar skills and worked with some of the biggest names in rock music. His contributions to Steely Dan and Boz Scaggs helped create some unforgettable music that fans still love today.
