Carlos Santana, the famous 77-year-old guitarist, was taken to a hospital in San Antonio after getting dehydrated during a soundcheck before his Tuesday concert.

The musician became sick while preparing at the Majestic Theatre and had to be rushed to a local hospital. After treatment, he was released and is now resting at a hotel, writes Billboard.com.

Profound disappointment
“It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight’s show in San Antonio has been postponed”, said Michael Vrionis, Santana’s manager.

“Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action. He is doing well and is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his U.S. tour.”

Fans who already bought tickets should keep them for the future make-up concert date. Unfortunately, Santana’s Wednesday show at the Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land, Texas, has been canceled completely.

25 shows
Santana began his Oneness Tour just last week on April 16 at the Yaamava Resort and Casino in California. The tour includes 25 shows across the U.S. and Europe.

The 10-time Grammy winner has been making music since the late 1960s, combining jazz, Latin, and rock styles. He’s known for hit songs like Maria Maria, Black Magic Woman and Smooth. Santana was added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
