In honor of the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster, Fender has launched a year-long celebration that includes the release of seven new Strat models. These guitars, which feature both classic designs and limited edition anniversary models, represent Fender’s dedication to innovation and its role in shaping music history.

The Stratocaster, introduced in 1954, was a game-changer with its unique design, three-pickup setup, and user-friendly tremolo bridge. It gained legendary status when Jimi Hendrix made it his instrument of choice, influencing musicians across all genres to adopt the Strat over traditional dual-humbucker guitars.

Strat’s Legacy
The Strat’s legacy is reflected in the diverse array of artists who have played it, from Bob Dylan to H.E.R., and continues to be the go-to guitar for today’s musicians. “As a teenager, the Stratocaster was the guitar of my dreams”, said FMIC CEO Andy Mooney. “After 70 years, the Stratocaster guitar is the electric guitar most often played by today’s artists.”

Fender’s “Year of the Stratocaster” campaign will feature various content pieces, including hero films and artist stories, to showcase the Strat’s broad influence. The initiative aims to engage and connect with players worldwide, reinforcing Fender’s vision of remaining “Forever Ahead of Its Time.”
