David Gilmour Seeks Pink Floyd Catalog Sale to End ‘Mud Bath’ with Roger Waters

Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour has expressed his desire to sell the band’s music catalog. However, his motivation isn’t financial gain.
In a recent interview, Gilmour revealed that selling the catalog would be a ‘dream’ for him. He explained, “To be rid of the decision-making and the arguments that are involved with keeping it going is my dream.”
Ongoing feud
The guitarist referred to the current situation as a ‘mud bath’, likely alluding to his ongoing feud with former bandmate Roger Waters. Last year, Gilmour described Waters as a ‘misogynistic, antisemitic, Putin apologist’.
Pink Floyd first considered selling their catalog in 2022, but the plan fell apart due to internal conflicts and controversial comments from Waters.
Value
If the sale goes through, it could be worth around $500 million, according to financial experts. However, for Gilmour, the value lies in ending the ongoing disputes rather than the financial windfall.
