David Gilmour Returns to U.S. Stages After Eight Years
David Gilmour, the iconic Pink Floyd guitarist, is set to tour the U.S. for the first time in eight years. He announced new shows in New York and Los Angeles as part of his latest music journey, supporting his new album Luck and Strange which is releasing on September 6 through Sony Music.
Fans in the U.S. can catch Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 29 and 30, and at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 4 and 5.
These shows are his only North American appearances. In addition to the U.S. dates, Gilmour has also planned performances in Europe, including six nights at Rome’s Circo Massimo from September 27 to 29 and October 1 to 3.
Limited European dates
The tour will kick off with shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 9-11 and 14-15, which are part of the limited European dates along with the concerts in Italy.
The tour features a talented lineup, including Guy Pratt on bass, Greg Phillinganes on keyboards, and others. Gilmour’s new music, created with his long-time collaborator Polly Samson, reflects themes of age and mortality. Samson explains, “Mortality is the constant.”
