Legendary Queen guitarist Brian May surprised fans with a special appearance at the Starmus VII festival in Bratislava, Slovakia. He joined punk rock icons The Offspring on stage for an electrifying performance.

The festival, co-founded by May, who is also an astrophysicist, celebrated the theme “Starmus Earth: the future of our planet” this year.

Unexpected collaboration
During the Sonic Universe concert, May played The Offspring’s 1997 hit Gone Away and a cover of Queen’s Stone Cold Crazy. The crowd was thrilled by the unexpected collaboration between the rock veteran and the punk rockers.

The Starmus Festival also featured a stunning concert by May and French musician Jean-Michel Jarre. They lit up the night sky with a show that included a 400-drone ballet, fireworks, and a light and laser display visible from three countries.

New arrangements
The performance included pieces from Jarre’s career and new arrangements of classical music, with May playing several pieces, including a cover of Queen’s Brighton Rock.
