71-Year-Old Rock Legend Teams Up with Daughter and Slash for Heartwarming Kids’ Bike Song

Rock icon Alice Cooper has collaborated with his daughter Calico and guitar legend Slash on a new children’s song about riding bikes. The upbeat track Freewheelin’ features the father-daughter duo singing ‘I’m freewheelin’ on my new bike / It’s the best thing that I like / Now you’re freewheelin’ riding by yourself / Pedalling faster without any help’, while Slash adds an exciting guitar solo.
The song is part of a special album called Solid Rock Revival, NME writes, which has been nominated for Best Children’s Music Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The album includes other famous musicians like Rob Halford from Judas Priest and Daryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels from Run DMC. All money from the album sales goes to Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers, which give teenagers free after-school music, dance, and art classes.
Amusing but Meaningful
Alice Cooper finds the situation amusing but meaningful. “Would it not be the craziest thing for Alice Cooper to get a Grammy for children’s music?”, he told the Arizona Republic. “It’s just a really cool thing for kids to see success happen, just the smallest seed growing into something that big. Sometimes the things you do for the fun of it turn out really, really good.”
The project comes as Cooper prepares to join My Chemical Romance on their 2025 US stadium tour, though this announcement has received mixed reactions from fans.
